The Stand

Ambience: a streamlined rustic/modern vibe with minimal decor and decent staff

Ordering procedure: counter service (you get a number and they bring it to you)

Burger presentation: all put together with a toothpick down the center in a paper lined dish

Standard toppings: grilled onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle, house sauce, cheese

Cheese situation: different cheeses on different selections, your choice on some

Fries: regular style, skin on

Meal deal: burger/fries/drink must be bought separately

Meal price: $8-15

Other: accessible soda fountain, indoor/outdoor seating, condiments on table

First location: Encino, California (a southern California chain)

Review: Bland fries and a burger that basically explodes as you eat it due to an over toasted bun that squashes its insides make for a soft pass. You get your money’s worth with quantity but the quality is lacking.

Kind of a mess right off the bat
