Hook Burger

Ambience: a cool, rustic bar and grill setting with a nice, helpful staff

Ordering procedure: counter service (they give you a number and bring it to you)

Burger presentation: bun top leaning askew with side of pickles, on metal dish

Prime Burger: caramelized onion, lettuce, tomato, honey dijon mayo

Cheese situation: add-on charge to any burger option

Fries: skin-on, skinny style

Meal deal: burger, fries, and drink must be bought separately

Meal price: $8-15

Other: fries served in separate cone dish, bar and grill areas separate entities

First location: Oxnard, California (a southern California chain)

Review: While the fries are basic and the burger is smaller than I would have liked, the burger is of very good quality for its price and very tasty on a great bun. I’d go again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.
